She kept saying that either way I say it, I approve of killing babies. It really pissed me off; she didn’t get the point at all, I don’t approve of killing babies. It’s very frustrating.
6. Hardly ever. I barely shop, and according to Soe this makes me a sad girl. The only brand name I like Is JayFreakinCee :]

Eventually, I became more close to the person who they were unfairly being mean to, and we were best friends ever since.
6. I don’t enjoy shopping, so I usually just try to get it over with as soon as possible. This usually results with me to disregard of any superficial ways to shop, such as looking for name brands. So I usually never care for the name brand of any item.

10. I like to work as a group to have many eyes on the project, and it will come out the best way possible.

ReplyDelete2. I would prefer to walk in the woods…..it’s more adventurous!
3. I would like to run at least half a marathon. I would never make it through the whole thing so half sounds good. Ever since cross country it has been a dream of mine.
5. I have disagreed with my friends about certain aspects of religion; however, we all respect and accept each other’s morals and beliefs.

9. I disagree with Eminent Domain which is the power of the government to take private property for public use. I can’t really do anything about it. I don’t believe that the government should have the power to take other people’s property.
10. Well it depends…if I work with another person or a group it would have to be someone who wouldn’t leave me to do all the work. Most of the time that’s what happens so I would prefer to work alone.
Hey Jacey...i read your post after posting mine and noticed we both have the same daredevilish aims in life. How about running that marathon together...I'm just going to walk off half way through the race though. :]
ReplyDeleteno you wont :] i wouldn't let you, cause i know you wouldn't want to walk off no matter how bad it sucks during.
ReplyDeletewe got this n_n
1. Well, I have been to Alaska and Hawaii and loved both. They are both so different; Alaska is full of ice while Hawaii is fire. I think I would like to visit Alaska again because I was so young when I visited and there is so much that I was not able to see because I went on a cruise. There is still so much natural territory that I have not explored and I would be excited to return there again.
ReplyDelete2. I would prefer to walk in the woods because it is so relaxing. Although sometimes hikes can be strenuous, it is such a rush and the feeling at the end is remarkable. The air in the woods is so pure and fresh. There is never a dull moment because there is tons of wildlife moving and making sounds all around you.
3. I think I would try dog sledding if you can call that a daredevil thing. It seems really cool (literally) and I love huskies. I would get to enjoy being outside surrounded by a peaceful setting driven by brilliant animals.
4. No four?
5. One time my friend talked negatively about Hamilton and the school district. My other friend and I were a little offended because we have gone to Elmsford schools ever since pre-k and we needed to defend ourselves.
6. When I go shopping I usually just purchase what fits and what looks nice. However, sometimes I do look at brand names for when I buy jeans but it doesn’t usually play a major impact on my decision making. If something is a good quality, decent price, and fits well, I will usually buy it but a brand name is not a large factor.
7. I would not really care if my friend decided not to salute to the flag. It is a free country and I cannot say what a person can and cannot do. It is their choice to salute the flag, not mine.
8. I would like a new laptop because I currently use an old one that is very slow and does not have much memory left. A new laptop would allow for me to open new programs that need newer computer software. Besides that, I cannot really think of another gadget that I would desperately need.
9. I feel that the United States should have universal health care. When I watched the movie, Sicko, it showed me how poorly the health insurance companies treat people. Preexisting conditions and other factors can affect if a person is granted health insurance. Also so many other countries have universal health care and people are much better off because they do not need to pay for health care. If universal health care was instituted in America, there would be opposition of course, but I feel that overall people would be much healthier and getting the treatments needed without the huge financial burden.
10. Personally I would choose to work alone because I find group projects very difficult. Usually group projects stir up drama when people have conflicting ideas and it is hard to complete if people live far away from each other. If I am doing a project on my own, I know that the only person that I need to rely on is myself.
1. I would choose to go to Hawaii because I am not a big fan of cold weather. I also like the tropical weather and Alaska is too barren for me.
ReplyDelete2. Walking in the woods would be wonderful for me. I love to see the sun peaking from the trees and the sound of nature.
3. I think this is a hard question considering that I’m not a daredevil -type person. However, I would probably go on a rollercoaster. That may not seem daredevil-ish but I am afraid of roller coasters or anything involving heights.
5. Once, my friend and I were having a discussion about prom. He didn’t think I should be helping my friend trying to find a prom date. I felt annoyed more than anything because he is not friends with my friend. So I thought he should have minded his own business.
6. I don’t usually go shopping and when I do, I’m more concern with price than brand name. When I’m grocery shopping, that’s when I look for brand names and expiration dates. For example, I prefer Duncan Hines over Betty Crocker.
7. If a classmate refused to salute the flag, I don’t think it would really bother me. Although it would respectful if they did, it is their choice to do so.
8. I would probably like to have a laptop or netbook because it will allow me to get my work done faster without hearing my brother and parents complaining about how I’m always using the computer.
9. I would say a government policy that I have trouble with is the idea of the health care issue. I think the United States should have universal health care. I honestly don’t think I can do anything about except hope that there will be some legislation passed on it soon.
10. In an interesting or challenging project, I prefer to work with a group because I think having different ideas will make the project more fun and productive. On other projects I prefer to work alone because I feel like I would get more work done.

ReplyDelete1. If I had a choice between going to Hawaii or Alaska, I would choose Hawaii. Hawaii is somewhere where I would be able to relax and enjoy myself. Another plus are the hula girls there and you know I wouldn’t be able to turn that down.
ReplyDelete2. Taking a walk on any of these places all depend in what kind of mood I’m in. If I were in a depressed mood, I would love to take a walk on the beach while the sunsets. I feel like looking at the waves would make me feel better. I would take a walk in the city during the nighttime if I feel like partying or just admiring the city lights, late at night. And if I felt adventurous, I would take a walk in the woods just so I could discover what’s out there.
3. One daredevil thing that I would love to do right now is go skydiving. It’s been one of my biggest goals for the longest time and when I’m old enough, I will go skydiving!
4. Guessing there is no number four.
5. Well one recent disagreement I had with my friends was about who won the wrestling match where I argued that I won since I had the pin on him. My others friends, however, disagreed and said I lost and so we yelled back and forth.
6. When I go shopping, sometimes I tend to look for the brand name when I feel like spending. Other times when I feel cheap or feel like saving some extra cash, I’ll buy whatever looks good or does the job.
7. If a classmate chose to not salute the flag, I really wouldn’t care because I feel that it’s their choice to make and not mine.
8. Well if a car counts as a gadget, I would LOVE to have that back in my life because it just makes life so much easier.
9. One government policy that I disagree with is the fact that once a male is 18, he must register for the draft. Honestly, there’s nothing that I could do about it; maybe there is but I just don’t feel like putting in the effort to do so.
10. I actually don’t have a preference whether I work by myself or with a partner or with a group. I feel like group projects can be a little bit more fun because you have more than one mind working which can contribute to a lot of creative ideas.
1)My choice would definitely be Hawaii. Alaska would be too cold and I HATE cold weather.
ReplyDelete2)I would prefer to walk along a beach. I think beaches are beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking. I don’t like the woods because it has too many bugs and trees. The city looks too industrial. When I imagine cities, I think of big buildings and smoke, which is not the kind of atmosphere I would want to be in. Beaches are extremely scenic and create a wonderful ambiance.
3)One “daredevil” thing I would like to do is to sneak out in the middle of the night and play “ding dong ditch.” It seems really fun and to some people it might seem silly, but for me it would be exciting and somewhat frightening. Me and my cousins actually planned on doing it, but we never had the chance to. Of course if my parents found out, I would probably DIE. Haha =)
4)……..?
5)I don’t really have many disagreements with my friends; however, I have had a couple. The topic was about my religion. He was atheist so you could imagine the things that he said. It seemed like he was actually winning the argument because he had very strong points, so I guess that made him feel good. However, it made me feel uncomfortable because it seemed as though he was right.
6)When I go shopping, I never look at brand names. If it looks good and fits me, I take it =)
7)To tell you the truth, I really wouldn’t care if someone didn’t salute the flag. They can do whatever they want and it’s not right if I tell them what to do.
8)A gadget that I would really like right now is an ipod. I lost mine about a few months ago and it is very distressing. I can’t live without music.
9)One statute in the United States that I disagree with is the patriot act of 2001. I know that it is made to prevent terrorism; however, I don’t believe that it is right for the government to check peoples emails and listen to peoples phone calls without their permission. I really don’t believe I could do anything about it though.
10)I definitely enjoy working in groups when it comes to projects. When you work in groups, you get everyone’s opinions and ideas. When you work with your friends, it is a bit distracting; however when you finish the project, you understand how much fun you had working with them.
1. I would choose Hawaii because the weather and the area is absolutely amazing. Alaska is a beautiful place from what I’ve heard but the weather does not suit me. I dislike the cold immensely; As a result I wouldn’t be able to take in the beauty.
ReplyDelete2. I would walk along the beach. I’m completely afraid of the woods because I feel like something will jump out from behind; The streets of a big city is the same scene I see all the time and I like to be in a place that’s more calm and quiet. And the big thing about beaches that I love is sand that my feet sink into.
3. If I had the courage to do one daredevil thing it would be to go skydiving. I think it would be amazing to just fall through the sky and actually float. The scary part of skydiving is that there is always the chance that something wrong could happen; that might be a reason why I’m probably going to hold off on it for quite some time.
4. It is M.I.A[=
5. Disagreeing has become part of our daily life as a senior now. It seems like everyone has a different opinion which is wonderful but annoying. When there is a disagreement the argument just escalates and grows into complete nonsense after a while. When we first disagreed my response was to just yell right back which gave me a response of pure screaming. At the end of the day the arguments are so small that they don’t even bother me.
6. When I go shopping I never look at the brand names. I look to see what looks nice on me and what I want. If by some coincidence I get something that’s a brand name lucky me. (Plus they’re slightly overrated; they’re so expensive for no reason.)
7. Well, in Hamilton there are at least 4 kids who refuse to salute to the flag. It doesn’t bother me since it’s a personal choice and people shouldn’t be forced into doing something they don’t believe in.
8. I would love to have a Macbook Pro (laptop). I’m actually not in dire need of such a gadget. I don’t think it would make my life extremely better, considering the fact; my mother has the wireless in my house shut down at 11 pm. So it is of no use to me after a certain time so it won’t better my life too much; but it will make it easier for me to do my work since my brother decides to kick me off my computer to watch his little cartoons.
9. One issue that is constantly being spoken about in America is the healthcare system. Personally, I know many people who cannot afford to get medical help because of the costs and I think its ridiculous. People shouldn’t be compromised because of the expenses. I understand that America is a capitalist country but the well being of individuals should be placed before making money. Well there was a bill that went through the government but im not sure what exactly happened I think it got rejected. I don’t think theres much I can do all by myself.
10. I like to work by myself when I have to work on an important project. I HATE groups. I feel like groups are only efficient if all members place in the same effort, time, and thought. Sometimes the groups that are put together are inefficient and one member ends up doing the entire project. If by some chance that one member makes one mistake the grade may not be up to par for the rest of the members; consequently, they feel like they have the right to blame that one individual who did all the work themself.
1. If you had a choice between going to Hawaii or going to Alaska, which place would
ReplyDeletebe your destination, and why?
Alaska, mostly because I love cold weather.
2. Given the choice, would you prefer to walk in the woods, or along a beach, or down
the streets of a big city? Why or why not?
I would chose the woods, because I don't like sand, and the city is too crowded and populated.
3. What is the one daredevil thing that you hope to do sometime, if you haven't already
done it?
I don't really know, I am afraid of alot of things, but base jumping is interesting.
5. Pinpoint an occasion when you found yourself disagreeing with your friends. How
did they react to you? How did their reaction make you feel?
They didn't really say anything, they were just like ok, you're wrong, but it deffinately pissed me off.
6. When you go to shop, do you look for brand names all the time, some of the time, or
hardly ever? Why?
Hardly ever, I just buy what looks nice.
7. What would be your reaction to a classmate who refused to salute the flag?
Nothing, it's their choice to show their allegence, not mine.
8. What gadget that you currently do not own would you like to get? How, in your opinion, would it make your life better?
I don't really what a gadget right now, if I wanted one, I would have bought it.
9. Can you think of any government policy (local, state, or federal) with which you have trouble/disagree? What can you do about it?
I disagree with a lot of government policies, but the only thing that I can't really do anything, because I am not 18.
10. When you work on an important project (one that you find interesting and challenging), how do you prefer to work? By yourself, with a chosen partner, or with a group? Why?
It depends on how lazy I feel, I prefer to work alone, but my laziness leads me to working with partners.
Go SAINTS =]
1.) I would choose Hawaii, just because I hate cold climates. Also, Alaska population is very dispersed, so I wouldn’t find many people around. I’d rather be in a small island surrounded with more people.
ReplyDelete2.) I am more of a beach person. I find the ocean very relaxing and I love the view (both girls and nature haha =D) I don’t like any activity that involves the woods, because I never know what kind of crazy animal would appear, like a skunk or a bear. Last, I don’t find a city walk very adventurous.
3.) I know that more than half the class said they want to go skydiving, and I would love to do it too. But rather, the one daredevil thing I really want to do is drive a NASCAR or F1 car in a real race. I like when adrenaline runs in me, and there is nothing like the feeling of going on the road at 120 mph.
4.) I’ll let you think about this question =]
5.) I don’t usually find myself in arguments with my friends, and if I do I respect everyone’s point of view. However, I was once in a situation where I was the only one disagreeing, it was about drinking in a party. I knew I had to drive a long way back home, so I refuse to intake any type of alcohol. Sometimes peer pressure could make somebody change his mind, but I was very determined not to do it. For my surprise they understood my decision and at the end of the night they even thanked me for taking them back.
6.) Brands don’t matter at all as long as it fits me and if I like it. The only time a clothing brand counts is if I am going to a specific brand store, like my favorite Aeropostale =)).
7.) I wouldn’t have any type of reaction. Patriotism is a thing that every individual controls on his own.
8.) I would like to have a house. Coming to a new world and being to “stabilize” in 4 years is a really hard thing to do for me, especially with only one parent. Having a house would totally change my life. I don’t desire as my uncle says, ‘dishonest ambitions’, things that we want just because they are popular and we just want to have them to presume about it. I am not that kind of person.
9.) One thing about government that really bothers me is the power they have over people’s privacy, as e-mail accounts for example. I think every person has the right for privacy and the government is violating this right. As another example, I hate how colleges can base their decision and judgment about a person base on a public page such as Facebook. I think they really need to stop stalking people.
10.) I like to work in group it allows to have different points of view and ideas I possibly couldn’t have thought of.
1. If you had a choice between going to Hawaii or going to Alaska, which place would
ReplyDeletebe your destination, and why?
I like to travel and visit a lot of places and I have been to plenty of Hawaii type islands. There really isn't another place like Alaska so I would have to go with Alaska.
2. Given the choice, would you prefer to walk in the woods, or along a beach, or down
the streets of a big city? Why or why not?
There are times when walking down the city is beautiful, specifically at night in an area such as times square. At this time one can really see the grandeur of the city. If it was just a day time walk, however, I would pick the woods. In the woods, it is usually quite and all you here is the sounds of a few different small animals. Also, the trees usually cover the uncomfortable sun that can exist on a beach.
3. What is the one daredevil thing that you hope to do sometime, if you haven't already
done it?
I would go skydiving if I somehow found the courage to do it.
5. Pinpoint an occasion when you found yourself disagreeing with your friends. How
did they react to you? How did their reaction make you feel?
My friends and I have been friends for so long that we rarely, if ever, get really mad at each other if ever. If there is ever a disagreement between people in the crew than we usually help each other out and fix the problem.
6. When you go to shop, do you look for brand names all the time, some of the time, or
hardly ever? Why?
Most of the time I go to the mall knowing what I'm gonna buy and from where. If I do see something that I really like, however, I'm not going to let the brand chase me away.
7. What would be your reaction to a classmate who refused to salute the flag?
Everyone is allowed to make their own decisions. Let them do what they want.
8. What gadget that you currently do not own would you like to get? How, in your opinion, would it make your life better?
Probably a laptop for college next year. Its portable so I can study anywhere.
9. Can you think of any government policy (local, state, or federal) with which you have trouble/disagree? What can you do about it?
There are so many different policies, on all levels, that i personally disagree with. At times I feel like I should go do something, but then I get my cynical "the world will never change" attitude. The only thing I'm worried about right now is my life and what I do with it. Maybe later on I'll feel a little more strongly about certain issues, but honestly right now I-like the majority of teenagers-do not know enough about most issues to even have a credible opinion.
10. When you work on an important project (one that you find interesting and challenging), how do you prefer to work? By yourself, with a chosen partner, or with a group? Why?
I usually look around at the people I'm with. If the project is challenging then I'm most likely going to need help and it is good to have people with their own specialties. An example, would be Javier's art skills in our Paradise Lost project. When I went to Michigan I learned the importance of group work and how people with a variety of skills can actually come and help each other out. I also saw how disagreements in opinions can drift groups apart and away from success. I personally, have no problem allowing someone else take a lead role which is important for groups to be efficient.

ReplyDelete1. Hawaii, because Alaska is too cold for consideration. And Hawaii is well known for existing with their own culture and traditions. I would like to get acquainted to those traditions and say Aloha!
ReplyDelete2. Along the beach because the beach is always very peaceful and refreshing with the wind softly breezing, the feet on soft sand, and the waves going up and down.
3. My answer is going to be very general- I want to have something I can't have. I am content and happy with my life at the moment but there will be a time in my life where I crave for something i am off limits to. I want to possess that by any means necessary.
5. 9 times out of 10 people agree with me. And usually the disagreements and arguments i would get into are funny and not serious at all. The latest one i could recall was when I argued with the salesperson from Macy's. I bought a watch for a friend's birthday and engraved stuff at the back but I noticed the watch was not running. I returned the watch and they exchanged me with a new one that is working but I had to engrave the watch again. I demanded that Macy's pay for one of the engraving costs but they said no. I felt hard done by and it was very unjust.
6. I look for brand names sometimes. It also depends on what I am buying. For upper body clothing such as T-shirts, I won't really care for the brand type because I would only go to certain stores. Jeans- I won't care at all. Shoes- I need it to be of specific brands.
7. I would not care. People have their own rights to or not to do stuff and saluting or not saluting the flag is protected by the freedom of expression clause. I support that.
8. A LAPTOP! My parents told me to wait until college but I would so die for one right now. It would help me get stuff done such as homework and essays wherever I might be. I would actually be able to browse the Internet through a computer when i'm away from home, instead of going online from the slow mobile web of mine.
9. Illegal Immigration! the rate of illegal immigrants entering the country has been increasing year after year. I think the government is too kind on the illegal immigrants that enter the country and settle here. They should pass stricter policies and protect the boundary more efficiently to limit the number of those people.
10. I would always work by myself if there is a choice. By myself, I would get the whatever project done more efficiently, quickly and I would actually understand what I did because I did everything. There would be less or no distraction than working with a partner and I can focus more on the task in hand.
1. If you had a choice between going to Hawaii or going to Alaska, which place would
ReplyDeletebe your destination, and why?
I would have to go with Hawaii simply because of its beautiful weather. I would just relax on the beach and eat the wonderful food. Whereas in Alaska, it is freezing and I would not be able to enjoy myself.
2. Given the choice, would you prefer to walk in the woods, or along a beach, or down
the streets of a big city? Why or why not?
I would walk along the beach because it is so peaceful and relaxing. I could just let go of everything and look at the ocean and sky. The streets of a big city Is too loud and crowded while the woods seems too gloomy to me.
3. What is the one daredevil thing that you hope to do sometime, if you haven't already
done it?
The one daredevil thing I would do is go skydiving. Even though I am pretty afraid of heights, this is the one thing I would do because of the adrenaline rush and my other friend’s experiences.
5. Pinpoint an occasion when you found yourself disagreeing with your friends. How
did they react to you? How did their reaction make you feel?
Well I personally cannot recall an occasion where I disagreed with my friends where it would be stuck in my head. Usually they are just small disagreements that we always joke around with. We just throw jokes around and since everyone is entitles to their own opinion, It really doesn’t bother me.
6. When you go to shop, do you look for brand names all the time, some of the time, or
hardly ever? Why?
Yes, every time I go shopping, I look for brand names unless the item is unbelievable “fresh.” I do this because I am used to that brand and I know it suites me well. Also, most of the time, the first thing people judge you on is your appearance, so have to dress appropriate for that.
7. What would be your reaction to a classmate who refused to salute the flag?
I would not mind at all because it’s their own decision and power to do what they want. I honestly do not stand for the pledge, but that does not make me a bad citizen.
8. What gadget that you currently do not own would you like to get? How, in your opinion, would it make your life better?
I would want to have a laptop, specifically a Mac. It would make my life better because it would be more efficient than the computer I have now and I would be able to post properly on the blog. (First one didn’t save) It would also make my social networking life much better. :)
9. Can you think of any government policy (local, state, or federal) with which you have trouble/disagree? What can you do about it?
The one thing I would probably disagree on is what someone stated before. The drinking age should be lowered because I don’t think it is right to send a 18 year old kid with a gun in his hand and he can’t even have a drink. Honestly, I may not have the right arguments or facts on the topic, but it’s my personal opinion. I do not think I would be able to do anything about it besides argue it with people that disagree with my opinion.
10. When you work on an important project (one that you find interesting and challenging), how do you prefer to work? By yourself, with a chosen partner, or with a group? Why?
I prefer to work by myself if it is something that I cherish or hold very important to myself. However, I like working in groups because you can get many peoples opinions and ideas on the subject. It is nice to have various options and also it does not hurt to have some help.
1. Hawaii. Alaska is far too close to Sarah Palin for my tastes. But, in all seriousness, Hawaii. I love the tropical islands and have always wanted to go to one.
ReplyDelete2. The woods. I love the feel of a forest. The trees overhead have a natural feeling of majesty.
3. Parachute jumping
5. My friends and I had a conflict once when we wanted to do a creative project together. I had an idea for the format of the presentation, but they disagreed with it. Their reaction surprised me, and I couldn't understand how people who had always had my back now had turned on me.
6. When it comes to food products, I always look for brand names. But, when it comes to clothing and fashion, it doesn't really matter to me. I'm not too into fashion.
7. I'd throw my government paper from last quarter at them!
If they refused to recite the pledge I would understand. But, if they were disrespectful while others were reciting, I would be very offended.
8. The gadget that I would like to get the most would be some sort of GPS on my phone. I have never been too great with directions, but with a GPS I wouldn't have to worry about it.
9. I don't really have any serious problems with any legislation going around today. I am content with the decisions the current administration has made and hope they continue to make the right decisions.
10. It depends. If its in a lab environment I love to work with others. It gives me a sense of professionalism: like I'm in an actual lab. But, when it comes to other projects like essays and presentations, I often like to work by myself. Then I can be positive that all the important points of a subject are mentioned.
